This pastel painting has been transformed from the original slide taken by me 45 years ago when I
visited my brother in Wurtsberg, Germany. At the time he was with the Army there, but was given some time off
for vacationing. I snapped the photo as we were driving over the Swiss Alps and down into Lucerne, Switzerland.
It was the middle of August, and perfect weather.
What I tried to capture in the painting was the feel of the overall incredible depth, and height of these beautiful
mountain ranges...or in other words the "majesty" which was there. Also the "serenity" that the Alpine lake provides
while nestled into the quiet, peaceful, and protecting landscape...
